The Ampezzo basin is a winter theatre of wonderful canals ideal for freeriding. Among the most famous on the northern slope of Monte Cristallo are Canale Staunies, Creste Bianche, Forcella Verde, Canale Vallecant and Canale Bernardi. These spectacular routes require an approach with seal skins, but allow descents of almost 1,500 metres in a solitary environment of great beauty.
There are also numerous descents on the slopes of the Tofane, among them the Canale della Colonna, the Comate or the Vallon di Raola, which offer descents with a difference in height of 1100 metres off-piste along suggestive slopes and gullies. We cannot forget the famous Bus di Tofana, a gully that is reached by passing through a hole in the rock on a shoulder of the Tofana di Mezzo. A beautiful spring route along the sunny slopes above the Dibona refuge.
