GEORGIA - SKI MOUNTAINEERING
Just a few hours by plane, near the Russian border a journey of discovery of Swan Culture and Orthodox monasteries perched on the ridges of isolated valleys and villages of yesteryear, all with our skis on our feet. Discovering a proud people. Full days tracing immaculate slopes in short a journey of discovery and away from the famous and classic ski destinations. You will see you will not be disappointed.

- Day 1 – Tetnuldi
Air travel Italy – Georgia preferred (Kutaisi (KUT)) – Cost today of flight about 250€ – Transfer to Mestia. - Day 2
Freeride day and getting to know and warm up at Tetnuldi ski resort, lifts go up to 3100m, with lots of off-piste possibilities and a chance to put on skins and go up to 3800m to make more mega powder tracks. At the end of the loop we can ski down to the village of Zhabeshi at about 1600m.
Overnight in Mestia. - Day 3 – Laila Pass.
We leave Mestia at 7:00 am for the village of Tskumari, which is located at the base of Laila Peak. We start our tour at 1400m to reach our descent at 3400m, then depending on the motivation of the group we might reach the summit.
Overnight in Mestia. - Day 4 – Koruldi Peak
We start on skis from Mestia at 1500m to reach the summit of Koruldi Peak at 2800m , to stop for an overnight stay in a wooden hut at 2300m.
Night in the hut. - Day 5 – Chalaadi giacer
From the hut we climb to 3700m to reach the upper part of the glacier, which 6km long is one of the best places for Powder line in Georgia. At the end of the long descent a shuttle will take us back to Mestia.
Overnight in Mestia. - Day 6 – Latpari Pass
Latpari pass ,is the highest pass between Upper and Lower Svaneti. The pass is at 3400m where you can see the whole range of the Caucasus mountains. At the end of the Field Trip return to Mestia.
Overnight in Mestia. - Day 7 – Village of Esteri
The Village of Esteri is located at 1600m, we will go skiing at 2700m near Cherinda Peak . Small trip compared to previous trips but very satisfying.
Overnight in Mestia. - Day 8 – Transfer to airport in Kutaisi.
Transfer to the airport to return to Italy.
This is an example of a stay program. Weather conditions and the level of participants may lead the guide to change the trip or some days at the ‘last moment.
The trip requires some spirit of adaptation. Sleeping in the homes of locals requires a cero adaptation to living in common spaces and local conditions.
Info and materials
The fee includes: UIAGM Mountain Guide for the duration of the program, overnight stay in Lodge or B&B, van for transfers.
The fee does not include: airfare, drinks and room extras, personal equipment, meals not mentioned in the program, everything not specified in “the fee includes”.
Equipment: ARVA, ice axe, crampons – skis, bindings (with crampon), boots and skins (in excellent condition with glue!) For touring, backpack capacity of at least 40 liters. Waterproof and padded windbreaker jacket, heavy fleece, thermal clothing on skin, hat, sunscreen, gloves (2 pairs), sunglasses and mask, underwear, necessary accessory materials, water bottle (thermos).
